I've hatched multiple cute fish / cuddlefish eggs and don't have the achievement. Is this glitched for anyone else? I only even knew it existed because I was watching a let's play.

Have you taking it out of the alien containment and released it outside your base?

Yes you need to pick one up and release it outside the base. You can play with it there too. I keep mine in containment so they don't get eaten.

Yep. That did it. Thank you. I forgot the fish in the containment are sort of turned off. :)

The only 2 achievements that need fixed (as far as I know) are the 2 end game ones about the rocket and time capsule.

Cuddlefish deserve to be free. They need an open ocean to move about and enjoy! Build an underwater cafe, and place them near the windows and watch them frolick outside while you drink a cuppa! Cheers!

I stopped releasing them after a loud series of thuds while parking my Cyclops convinced me the Cuddlefish doesn't know that playing on the road is bad.

Cuddlefish = road kill = drill to death.

It fun when u dont have vehicles else wirh current ai. I just throw them in rubbish bin

Well the achievement says "Find and hatch a cuddlefish." and I did. There's not much you can do with them anyway. Just feed them constantly and get them to follow you around. My base is in the very center of a large kelp forest. So there's stalkers everywhere. Poor cuddlefish don't stand a change x_x

I have the same problem, but I have tried taking it out of the containment and in to the ocean and still nothing. any suggestions?

(nevermind, you have to do it in story mode apparently.)
