Can the deep schroom be cultivated using the exterior growbeds?
Those Deep acid mushrooms, if I plant one of them into the exterior growbed, will it grown more of those mushrooms?

you have to slice the mushroom with your knife to get spores. plant those. you get 4 spores per shroom. they'll grow over a short period of time to full shrooms. just remember to keep at least one of them in the growbed to slice and get more spores once you've picked most of the shrooms from it.

I doubt it, none of the shrooms do anything in alien containment...

You don't get tutorials when you're the only survivor of a crash on an alien planet. Lucky we have the PDA... lot of people don't read it.

I dig it.
Most plants work like watermelon, knife for seeds and plant in growbeds.

The exception are bloodvine and creepvine, you pick up seeds and blood oil withou knife and plant them in growbed.

Bloodvine, creepvine, gel sack, deep mushroom are always cultivated outside my base for quick resources.

I read the entire PDA and got nothing about harvesting spores from deep shrooms, and apparently the acid shroom hurt you when you stab them.

I just ended up learning to knife ANYTHING that look at all remotely like it was a plant, that way I would find out what it did.

Just about everything that grows in the ocean can be grown in an exterior grow bed or alien containment. Just about everything that grows on land can be grown in an interior grow bed or pot. I don’t suffer any damage from using the knife on any type of mushroom in the reinforced suit. I do not remember if this was also true in the radiation suit.

Creep vines in an exterior grow bed make a good light source for a base at night or in the deep dark without causing any aggro (I think) for sea creatures.

The first and only tutorial you get is that you can knife creepvines and table corals for resources. The rest is up to you to experiment with. (Luckily I got into the habit of knifing all plants I came across and was rewarded with knowledge that knife = seeds).

Domesticated mushrooms won't hurt you in a growbed when knifed. For optimal inventory management, grab one or two mushrooms WITHOUT knifing them, plant them in your growbed, then knife them there. They won't hurt and you'll save space while hauling them back to base.

I didn’t know that. I assumed my improved suit made a difference.

Cheers dude, It's only when you know, then it seems simple. Glad the shrooms can be harvested.
