Anyone have the latest on the Knives? Which one is better?
I was wondering which blade does most Damage, hardened or thermal?

I recently Read this in the Comments section of the Thermoblade on the Wiki.

"Page seems to be wrong. Thermo blade deals more damage, not less, than the normal knife thermo blade kills cave crawlers in 2 hits and it takes the regular knife 3 hits."

Then as a reply, someone (Stamos12) said (6 Days Ago):
" I fixed it."

So I was wondering if anyone knows for sure which blade is better for defense (dont care about the cooking thing, I just want to be able to defend myself better)

Appreciate any help!

Stasis rifle is all you need for defense.

I use the normal knife because thermal blade has an annoying bug where an animiation gets stuck on screen until you reload.

Pretty sure thermal does more damage but I'm so annoyed by the bug I can't use it anymore.

Thermal blade for knife damage, good for food on the go, the hardened blade was removed months ago after they removed durability. Standard knife is good for smaller stuff, but for big pest the heated one.

Thermal does everything the normal one does plus a bit more, so just carry that one.

If that's not a good enough answer, get a stasis rifle and go test it out for yourself. How many hits does it take to kill a stalker with each, or something like that.

Prawn arms do more damage than both. And driving into a spadefish does the most damage.

Thanks for all the responses (and so quick too!)! i will go with the annoyingly noisy Thermal, and will definately check out the Stasis Rifle (never really used it much, but will be now!)

With enough battery power (Fully charged battery) in a stasis rifle, and a thermal blade, with some patience (it'll take a couple minutes or so), you can even take out a reaper.

Have to make sure he stays in the stasis "bubble", so I usually hit him again with the stasis rifle a little earlier than is probably needed, just to be sure he don't move.

Yes, i have seen someone do that on youtube. I never used the Stasis Rifle too much, but now will be using it a lot. Thank you for your responses.
