Xbox Controller with VR
Hey so I plan to play this with the Vive...Is the Xbox controller enough to play and enjoy or will I need to use the keyboard/mouse as well?

You can play with just the xbox controller, but you'll have to disable the steam overlay cuz it uses the same button as exiting your PDA and isnt remappable......other than that it plays just fine in VR with a controller.

As fine as it can be using a control pad. VR isnt very nice using a pad imo.
Also theres that dodgy HUD or is there a fix for that?

I played the game in VR with an xbox 360 gamepad and it worked fine. You can do everything with a gamepad. Not everything-everything though, but it's not related to the input method. For instance you cannot rename a beacon in VR, you have to restart the game in non-VR mode and use a keyboard and mouse.

Also, there is a whole subforum dedicated to VR: http://steamcommunity.com/app/264710/discussions/4/

There are some quirks to using the xbox controller, vr or not. My main gripe is that the quick slots are a pain to deal with when using the controller.

Sure, this is a huge PITA, my main gripe with the implementation. Yet the OP asked if it was "enough to play", and indeed it is, I never had to use the keyboard and mouse unless I was trying to rename things. And, even though I am a complete KB&M fanatic, having tried it in many games only to drop it within an hour tops, this is the very first game in which I have found the gamepad to be better.

Sitting in VR with keyboard and mouse is just... Not right. You wanna turn around in 360 with your head and body. Maybe if there's some kind of mobile keyboard you can use while standing...

Never wanted to turn around in 360 with my head and body. Moving my viewpoint with the gamepad is enough. And I don't want to flail my arms either nor stand, so I don't want games that use the special VR controllers. Seated VR + gamepad is the right setup for me.

spinning on office chairs is the way, with a lapboard or gamepad.
