I cant find the compass
Am I stupid or has my game just glitched? I've searched every inch for 100 meters around Lifepod 3 and i cant find the data box for the damn thing

The compass is out by lifepod 6 in a databox, as far as I'm aware of. It's always the first pod I aim for on starting a new game and for that reason alone. You don't get a physical beacon for the lifepod from the radio, but a photo clue, so a newer player may have a bit of a chore finding it their first time around. But I've found it there in all 4 games that I've started up since release so it's a good chance it'll also be there for you.

the Databox for it can appear at either Lifepod 3 or 6. If you don't find it at one, look for it at the other. If you're at 3 you're not too far from 6.

Its not even needed to navigate really. It seems to be fairly easy to triangulate in this game.

The aurora is usually the best marker in the game. You either want to go left of the aurora or right of the aurora and eventually youll find what youre looking for

I still want an official map though.

Returning to the surface to get your bearings gets tiresome. Easier to just look at the compass.
