Are time capsules random? -Subnautica

I found a time capsule yesterday. It said My friend likes his tech or something like that. It was pretty convienient. So, I went in search of some more (coordinates mentioned in the post i was using). However, none of them appeared in their designated locations. Infact none of them even spawned. Why?

They are random and from what I’ve read they are supposed to be somewhat rare. But some report that they’ve found 5 in one save while others have yet to find any.

My world has 2 days and like 17 hours on it and ive only found 1. Id say theres a 1 in 500 chances of finding one first time.

I've only found three so far and the latest one that i got is a time capsule from Acituanbus, a youtuber that I watched when subnautca was still in beta

I have found two. One telling me a story about the birds of subnautica and how the person was harassed by them for standing on their nest.

The other contained jacksepticeyes septic tank.

I found those 3 separately in the grand reef, dunes and the crash site

On one playthrough I found 4 or 5 in one session WooHoo. After finishing that game, I replayed from start to finish again, and never found a single one on that playthrough. (Replayed because I thought missing the last 2 Achieves was my fault - know now that UWE messed up)

This isn’t true at all. I found 2 in the sparse reef canyon near lifepod 13 (second officer keens lifepod). What’s funny is that I was looking for prawn suit grappling arm fragments and I found the alters arms prawn suit one xD

I said "some". Start a new game and see if you find those same 2 in the same location.
