but not the base itself untill it was about 100 meters away. was no blur or fog or anything. just didnt render till i was almost too it.
First of all, open Windows Explorer (or your OS equivalent) and go here:
C\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames\slotXXXX\CellsCache\
Now scroll down and delete ONLY this file: batch-objects-13-17-10
What that will do is reset the entire batch location, allowing your game to load it back in again, hopefully with the Degasi base in it. If you want to save time, you can then type "Batch 13-17-10" into the console to waep to the vicinity. Repeat the cycle until it loads in.
1) Press F1 (opens Console)
2) Press F8 (to enable debug menu cursor)
3) Click the 'Clip mapping' tab
4) Click 'Rebuild All' button.
And if that doesn't work, try deleting that one specific 'cell' to clear the cache and have it rebuild it from scratch.
1) Under the F1 menu, look for 'Camera Batch #'
1a) The Degasi Jellyshroom base should be 13, 17, 10.
2) Quit the game and go to your Subnautica steam install folder. (typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames\slot000#) where slot000# is your current save game slot.
3) Look under the CellsCache folder
4) Look for the file 'baked-batch-cells-13-17-10.bin' (The .bin extension may not be visible if you turned off known file extensions)
5) Delete just that .bin file.
6) Restart Subnautica.
NOTE: I STRONGLY recommend NOT standing in the space where the base normally is when quitting the game. Stand on a coral or jellyshroom before doing this, or you may suffer a Perils of the Warp (stuck in solid matter) problem.
Edit: Dammit ninja'd by Salinite.
Get farming - Things like the Melons can easily be your only required source of food and water outside of very long trips away from a base or cyclops.
YEAHHHH THE BOYS! It worked! Thanks DeFragged and Salinité for the help. You're both bloody legends! Cheers lads!
Weird issue.
I accidentally built a base right where that base is supposed to be, building a scanner to look for the missing base, lol. Guess I have to deconstruct and reset.
The console options don't exist anymore, but confirmed that deleting the .bin file mentioned does fix the issue.
