Not always unfortunately, but most of the time.
Sadly did not work for me
See if that helps.
Thing is the game never crashes, just nothing loads
To clear your cache, go to your steam install folder. The default should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames\slot####, where #### is your savegame slot (typically 0000)
Look for the folder called CellsCache and either delete it or add a _bak to its name. This will clear the Subnautica world and reset all changes, but it will also vastly improve performance.
The files you're deleting are .BIN files. The .TXT files he mentioned are not in the right folder. If you do this everything should reset including the Aurora (and if it already exploded, it should stay exploded).
I have had an entire wreck disappear on me once, and I had to clear its cells to make it reappear. Try this.
Okay, so i am home, pretty much what the other person said.
Go into your save folder,
Delete "cellscache" folder.
Then delete every "batch-objects-#-##-#" file, there will likely be 100's if not thousands of these.
That should restore your game to when you crash landed, except what you have progressed and built. I woudl also recommend you do this while inside your escape pod. So that the aurora is out of your draw distance. Then, you should be able to approach it and it will generate anew. I Hope.
