Do Sand Sharks actually attack?
Since release, I have never been damaged by Sand Sharks. They just spazz out all over the place but don't actually damage me.

Is my game bugged? Or did something change that I am unaware of?

They try. They really do. They're just, well... a little special.

If you stand still long enough and let them rub themselves on you for a while, they will eventually manage to bite you. It's harder for them than it is for the other sharks. They're doing their best.

They should attack yes. Are you actually standing still and there is enough space around you for them to attack?

The used to.. now, like biters, they are more passive.

They pretty much can't hit you if you're moving.

They will attack you if you're standing still near the bottom. But that's about it. Planet's most ineffective predators.

Those 4 eyes make it hard for them to see clearly, poor things.

I am in the open water, and I've started swimming right at them to see if they actually cause damage.

I did recently acquire the reinforced dive suit, does that protect you from the Sand Shark attacks?

I'll try again tonight, save the game and just stay still, see what happens.

I know they damage my Seamoth when they hit it. But they tend to miss me alot when I'm out of the sub. It's like there's a hit-box issue with them. They need a big target .. like the seamoth.

Oh, I see the dev answered above. I'll tell you one thing. They can damage your peace of mind when they spaz at you like they do.
