How do I get nickel ore?
I've read that it appears in lost river and the lava areas, but I need it to get the Cyclops past mk1. How the hell do I get it? All I can find is that I need the cyclops to even get into those areas...

Nickle only appears in lost river, and you dont need cyclops, MK3 seamoth can reach there, you can navigate through the whole place except lava zone.

You don't need the cycplos to get to the LR. With mk3 you can go to 900 and as long as you don't try to go down into the cove tree area you'll be fine. Nickle is easiest got with the PRAWN, but if you look around the floors/walls/river of the LR you'll occasionally find Nickel ore and Sulfur. Which are lone minerals similar to lithium, ruby, and uraninite.

Ok, I didn't want to test it since my Seamoth is my best friend. Don't want to lose the thing to some reaper, and I really don't like being surrounded by darkness.

Can't get those with the prawn without actually getting them so the prawn CAN go down there.

Technically, you don't even need the Sea Moth. With Sea Glide, Rebreather, and Ultra High Capacity Tank you can swim underwater a distance of over 2km before you need to get more air.

You wont as long you dodge fast enough, you could take the grand reef path to LR as the 2 places are very bright. But do beware of Ghost Leviathan that guarding the entrance

Just regularly save in safe spots. On your way down skirt the edges & stay as far away from the ghosts as possible. I went down there a few times in a seamoth and didn't get hit once :)

Oh, it does? I just assumed the prawn was going to be garbage like the seamoth early on...

I can always take the Blood Trench path, assuming that doesn't lead me to a dragon.

Oh No. Everyghin above the cove tree area is fair game for a vanilla PRAWN.

You can go to the blood kelp trench entrance which doesnt have a ghost leviathan guarding it, just some warpers and crabsquids which can be easily avoided/killed, but its very dark in the blood kelp trench.

yes prawn is the best machine that can get you to lava, load it in the cyclops and deploy it to the LR since it has default 900m crush depth,

Question, how do I kill stuff? Thermal knife and stasis gun? I usually just blast ♥♥♥♥ with my repulsor.

Most hostile creatures leave you alone if you punch them with the prawn or just run away long enough
