Question about creative mode
In creative mode, do you still need to scan stuff and gather resources? Or can you just hop into the game and pick a nice spot to start building?

Yep! Everything free is totally free! Instant build and infinite resources, no health, food, oxygen or water.

You can still scan stuff just for the PDA info, but you have unlimited resources anyway, go nuts.

As a heads up, Creative mode disables the story.

So unless you just want to play around with building a base as big as you want, you can't actually DO anything in creative mode.

I played through the story in Creative, it was not disabled in any way. It felt like some things took longer than it should've to happen but all the little scenes happened with the aurora and the endgame.

I'm also seeing story progression with the Aurora and started receiving distress calls although since I just started I'm not sure if there's any part of the story that is actually disabled.

One question though, in Creative mode I have been unable to get the thermal reactor or nuclear power to work. Multiple thermal plants with 45-50C provide no power whatsoever to just one multipurpose room even when placed correctly. New nuclear rods also provide no power.

Are these 2 power sources disabled in creative mode?

Ive completed the story in creative, launched the rocket, cured myself, and everything.

AFAKIK you don't NEED power in creative, so they don't work. I could be mistaken, though. I haven't done a creative playthrough in many many months.

AFAKIK you don't NEED power in creative, so they don't work. I could be mistaken, though. I haven't done a creative playthrough in many many months.

So far I've been using solar and yes you do need power but the other power sources haven't worked. Maybe it's a bug in creative :/

the only way ive found to turn the lights on in creative is to either connect a solar panel up or if your down deep, build your power source, then use the console commands and switch to freedom then back to creative you you'll light, the fabricator still works even with no power attached but your base will be dark
