no

sadly. feels like the cyclops burns too much energy and until you get all the way down to kyanite the only way to recharge is manually by runing cells to a charger at a base... why didnt they give us a solar recharge? :(

You can have a docked Seamoth in the cyclops or a PRAWN suit with a heat charger and use those to charge your cells. Could even load the cells in the PRAWN's storage and just switch between them as needed.

do you use rig for silent running? that thing took so many power. only use it when necessary

and also bring some spare power cell in your cyclops. it can save you many times

I haven't made any large excursions jet in my cyclops but the first thing I did after crafting it was to mount a locker just fore off the engine room, name it "powercells" and stuff as many spares into it as I could easily afford.

I would have installed a reverse switch on the charger for the parasite craft.
So that in an emergency the Cyclops could suck the docked Prawn suit dry to limp home.

The Cyclops can have a heat charger. Mine has one and I run around in the ILZ and below at 100% nearly all the time. If you run low on power above those areas just park next to a thermal geyser for a bit. Honestly guys I don't know what you guys are doing with your Cyclops but power is never an issue for me. I can go and do whatever I need to and have plenty of power left over. Very rarely do I need to actually change power cells to fresh ones. So keep some spares guys and you're good to go.

I can go from my main base (located at 45m depth next to the mountain island), down to the "kyanite," as you refer to it, and back and only use maybe 30% of my power cell total. No switching power cells or anything. Not sure what I'm doing that you guys aren't or vice versa but you shouldn't be using that much power, period. Of course that was before I got the thermal energy module for the cyclops, now it's even better.

i had the same problem where my cyclops would run out of battery super quick it tuurns out that was because i was charging batterys and that would drain energy
Can't say I've really had a power issue with the Cyclops. Just now getting nickel ore and everything and getting to the Lost River no issues uses like 8% power. When I'm travelling I have interior lights off and when it's sitting I basically turn everything off. Gotta get kyanite for the thermal power module but still no issues as I have like 12 power cells in a wall locker.

Yes that's a good point. For the older players that used to charge power cells and batteries with chargers mounted inside the cyclops (guilty as charged), that is no longer possible. The devs changed the endless power cells charging loop exploit to something that makes more sense.

just saying, it would have been nice to have the option for solar charging. its sort of the like the "ultimate" vehicle so why not have the best of the tech you already have with other vehicles to draw from. if you are spending a lot of time up by the shallower areas in the cyclopse (away from thermal vents) its a hastle. and if you do have to go silent running for more than a few moments, or run the shield...

would have been a nice feature is all.

I don't see why we can't just jam a solar panel on the Cyclops, I tried lol. Oh well.

i think you used to be able to build stuff on the outside of the cyclops (people used to make grow beds and lights and solar and all sorts of stuff). it caused enough technical issues they dropped it however.

this is my issue today. yesterday i could charge 4 cells and drive. now i am barelyable to move before i run dry. i dont know the name of where i am right now but i may make it out. will have to steal prawn batterys somehow to make it hime i think. am in the area where you get the nichol and the giant head is. cant go any lower tho. is this hot enough for the heat charger?
