How to lock fps at any rate
so in order to do that you need to press F3, after that F8 and a cursor will appear. select disable console, then press F8 and F3 again and press enter, type:targetframerate and the number of fps you want to be locked at (30/ 60/...). if you type this without pressing F3 again the game will turn black, don't worry simply restart the game and do it again pressing F3 the second time.

I hope this help because I've seen lots of people searching how to do it.

bye

Thanks Skis, the command works fine but you have to set it every time you enter the game because it reverts back to 144 fps (default). I'm trying to put advanced initialize options on Steam, but it didn't work. Do you know any ini file or something to change it forever?

You can use MSI aterburner to cap you frames per game and much more. I am using it for years, It's a must have....

Except you only lose by capping framerate. you are not making your GPU last longer. Its designed to run at full load. Unless you go as far as mine with it, your GPU will last long before you get rid of it. And if it doesn't, capping framerates wouldn't have saved it. Higher FPS is better latency. Stop capping your framerates out of ignorance.

I've never said that capping your framerate would make your GPU last longer.... but you will certainely have lower temps, less noise and stuttering and if you except the professional gaming or the true fps like doom, you will not see any difference between 120 or 500 fps, especially for a game like Subnautica..

Lower temps are pointless. You don't hear then noise over game sound.

And you do get less latency and yes, you do notice.

And no you do not get more stuttering. You get less stuttering.

Sure, no doubt, you are right, definitely....

FPS cap is really good. For me, i have only a 100Hz Monitor. So i capped my FPS @ 100 FPS.
