I suggest having a map on a laptop next to you, or else alt-tabbing to a map when needed.
The best map by far, in my opinion, is this one:
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/subnautica/images/1/1d/Subnautica_map2.png/revision/latest?cb=20170326001243
Although a bit older, the only thing it's really missing is the Crag Zone. It also lists a coordinate grid (most don't) and shows all the reaper leviathan spawns (which are static and easily avoided).
And in case you weren't aware, hitting F1 in game will show your coordinates (among other things).
Only if you think the game's "hard" element lies solely in bumbling around aimlessly.

Well, hence "hard" in quotes. I guess I'm just not keen on the main feature of a game being a lack of information for the player. Information is a good thing!
I guess. But if you play in windowed mode you can alt-tab easily.
Anyway, I just keep one up on my laptop here on my desk. Oh well.
Yes i would love to press M and bring up a detailed map of areas discovered, possibly labeled as well.
wait can you give some more views of the cab there? i got mine mounted on the wall near the bulkhead leading i guess into the crew quaters?, curious how you mounted yours..
also my picture frame doesnt look like yours..... i demand answers!!@!
as i side note, i hope people are meaning like a minimap (cod, wow, that kinda thing), and not a full on map.... (you know, pressing m)
Its floating in thin air :D
It was the closest I could get it to captains chair.
I love this game, really I do, but I pretty much wouldn't believe anyone claiming they got all of the blueprints they wanted without having to google locations. No. You just can't see that far out when under water, wrecks are real easy to miss.
