No not limestone. Lead is found in sandstone chunks.

Limestone has Titanium and Copper.
Sandstone has Gold, Silver, and Lead
Shale has Diamond, Lithium, and Gold

Look for them on walls, they tend to be more round'ish than limestone and usually have a darker color

In the safe shallows mostly in caves. In other biomes it can be found anywhere, although in kelp forest it's also mostly in caves. It looks similar to limestone, but a little darker and more smooth/roundish.

sandstone is commonly found everywhere other then safe shallows, and some caves in safe shallows, grassy platues (red grass area) and farther out, further, when you get a prawn (and a drill arm) you can go to lost river and deeper and hit up the big lead desposits

When you find the fragments for it, build a scanner room and then inside the scanner room build a HUD chip and set it to scan for whatever you're looking for. It'll find all of the stuff in range and with the HUD chip it'll send the locations to your HUD so you can see exactly where they are. For Copper, Gold, Silver, and Lead, set it to scan for their respective stones. If you set it to scan for the resources themselves it's going to point you toward the giant solid chunks that you have to have spoecialized equipment to mine. Diamond and Lithium can be found both in small and giant form so you can either scan for Shale to find them that way or scan for the resources themselves and take the chance that the scanner room is sending you to a node that you need the special equipment to harvest.

Just keep looking. It's there. You'll find a lot of sandstone in the deeper parts of the kelp forests, especially in the caves. Most of the stone outcroppings there will be sandstone.
