Best end game base location? [Spoilers]

So I manged to get to the sea empirer using only my safe shallows base and I'm thinking if I'm going to make a second base then I might as well make it in a great location, possibly taking advantage of the teleporters?

Any suggestions?

I tend to build my base at the sandlands next to the lifepod belonging to the cafeteria manager. Turns out that location is around 300-500 metres from one of the teleporters.

I prefer to just use the seamoth though. I enjoy exploring the world along the way.

I have considered building in the mushroom caves under it though. As the surface does not have any thermal sources.

You could build it at any one of the four warp gate exits.
These are:
Crag field
Ghost forest
Mushroom forest
And I forget the last one.

Best endgame base location is within the prison aquarium. Only problem is the power source since solar doesn't work and stringing a line for thermal is doesn't look too good.

One great place is in the Kush Zone, the N/NE edge of it near two large thermal vents. Why? The Kush warp gate is 200m away, and access to the Lost River is a few hundred meters straight N/NW. You're within 500m of any resource you need, there's thermal power, and the Kush plants are a good source of water as there's really no coral tubes nearby.

But there are many places. I tend to choose Kush, Floating island, or somewhere inbetween like the western Blood Kelp zones.
