Waterproof Lockers
THEY SUCK! I mean... they're not useful at all for you, even before you have a base in the shallows, the same goes for carry bags that you find in the aurora, they serve no real purpose since they have less space and don't really have any more mobility.
Here's my suggestion for making them actually useful to the player: Let me grab and drag them with my free hand without having to empty them or put them in my inventory, that way, if I set one down, I can carry it with me to increase my effective backpack space for resource runs loading resources I pick up into them before coming back with it and unloading.
You could also balance their utility around speed. lets say that an empty waterproof locker slows you down... 10% and a full one slows you down 30%, while an empty duffel doesn't slow you down when carrying, but a full one slows you down by 15%. Just a thought, you could also balance them for their availability by when you can carry them, for instance, lets say you could only carry a waterproof locker in your right hand, meaning you can't use a seaglide, or any other tool while carrying, but, you could(if the devs wanted you to) carry the duffel bags over your shoulders, while using a seaglide, or maybe even while in a vehicle!
Either way, they'd actually be worth picking up and using.
I don't know how difficult it would be to code, but I'm really hoping it's easy, this idea really excites me with the concept and the possibilities.

Actually, water proof lockers were usefull for me when I needed to store titanium and water someplace else. My life pod storage was always full. I couldn't fit copper, creep vine, and quartz in there.

Well sure, you can use them, and they can be useful if you have alot of stuff real early, but at that point I just drop the fluff and craft some stuff, it never occurred to me that the waterproof locker was worth the titanium I used to make it

It's kinda annoying that waterproof lockers float around when things colide with them as well.

It would be nice if they just stayed put.

Tier 1 item, what do expect ?
ImHelping Jan 26, 2018 @ 7:31am
I might like the waterproof lockers if they compacted into a 1 tile item when empty. then they would have a practical little niche all game. Rather than something you basically need pretend make belive excuses to convince yourself they are good.

Lockers with 42 inventory space are also a "tier 1 item". Wall lockers are about two inches deep, and are still notably larger in their inventory space than floating lockers.

So if one were to take your lazy attempt at sick burns seriously? You should expect quite a lot actually.

I never used them, i started of making a repair tool and immediately after i made a building tool for the bases. So, for me they where useless indeed. I also don't use them because i think they might be gone some day.

R serious or born stupid?

Wall locker can be built inside your base, you can't build a base right at the start of the game so you are stuck with floating lockers imbecile.

That's what I was referring too, hope it clears up a little bit more in your empty skull.

Lockers with 42 inventory space are also a "tier 1 item". Wall lockers take up less physical space than floating lockers, and are still notably larger in their inventory space.

So if one were to take your lazy attempt at sick burns seriously? You should expect quite a lot actually.

Are you serious or just born a perpetual eight year old? You have no reason to go about with name calling, it makes you look like an angry kindergartner throwing a tantrum.
What are you even so :steamsalty: about? Someone else wanting items in a videogame to get a buff? Christ, get a grip man.

I can build a base in 30 minutes of play time, what you talking about?

Just dont see the need to code this in.
dbelow_ Jan 26, 2018 @ 7:51am
There's not much need to code anything in, could've just left the game in early access as an underwater exploring base building sandbox. Obviously the dev team isn't just doing things by necessity

Let's not let this thread derail, does anyone else have any obsolete or semi useless items that they'd like to see get a buff? Any small quality of life changes you'd like to see added? Share them all here! Please, do not mind the flamewars.

I think the pathfinder is absolute garbage, it cant go far and i think the path disappears when you don't hold it (haven't used it lately).
Not like i need it but still, its garbage.
The author of this topic has marked a post as the answer to their question.

Might as well throw in a pole dance as furniture

I think generally that the caves in the game are far too small and easy to navigate for them to be a challenge, so the pathfinder is gonna be pretty useless regardless of buffs if they don't first revamp the underground terrain gen
