Metal banging noises?

I've been starting to hear these wierd metal banging noises wherever I go. They weren't happening when I started this save, only a few in-game weeks in, so maybe they're some kind of insanity effect? It's always the same kind of noise in the same order at the same volume so I don't think it's actually caused by anything in the environment. Honestly it's pretty annoying. Anyone know what this is?

Think you're hearing stalkers munching on metal, not sure though.
Have a good look around :)

edit: if its while inside a sub, could be a lot of fish banging on the side of your sub

Silly question if by "everywhere" you mean "around your base". Do you have a moonpool?

One particular bug that's been in the game's past was that it would just... replay the docking animations as you wandered your base. I THINK they fixed that though? But there are a lot of bugs in the "They fixed that already" category.

You may also be hearing the sound of it spawning in debries to finally hit the water then fall to the ground below. Which is another source of janky "What's causing that sudden sound like metal just fell from the sky out of nowhwere?-oh, it's literally metal spawning in to fall from the sky out of nowhere" through the game's development.

Then there is stuff like the above "stalkers snacking on metal", but those guys are only supposed to be found in the safe shallows. Which at least is an intentional matter.

There is basically so many odd possible causes that it's a very hard question to answer you have asked, really.

That was only fixed by moving the sub...

Man. Stalkers set such a high bar. I wish the rest of the predators came even 10% to the polish they got.

You mean, while the prawn is inside the cyclops? Never had that either lal, seems i was lucky bug wise....

Yeh love the game, one of my top games for 2018 for sure, does still have a lot of work.

Thanks for the input everyone. When I say everywhere I do mean everywhere, whether it's in my base or out in the Koosh fields. I've already checked for Stalkers, it's not the same sound as fish hitting my Cyclops. I guess it might be debris falling from the sky into the water, but it really doesn't sound like something hitting the water, it sounds like metal hitting metal.

It might just be background noise, but I'd argue it's too distinct to be that.

the brain coral oxygen bubbles make a loud banging noise if they hit your submersables or bases.

i think floaters can also make that noise if you've accidentally snagged one of those onto your cyclops. although you'd notice it handleing weird

I've managed to record a short clip of it, I'll upload it to YouTube real quick. You'll also see me testing the bubble theory, Meewec, but that made a clear ''bloop'' noise on my end.

Heard it a lot myself, no idea what it is heh.
I always assumed its a background noise heh.
I'd say i only ever heard it around my base, but i'm not sure at all....

Edit: color your subs a bit :P
