A decent SLI config to split gpu usage and lower temps with lower stutter compared to AFR2.
I was messing around in nvidia inspector and came across some settings that helped lower gpu temps while still playing smoothly.
sli compatibility bits dx1x - 0x080020F1 Witcher 3
sli compatibility bits - 0x02402C05 Far Cry 3 / blood dragon
Set your sli gpu counts at the bottom, but don't touch sli mode.
There's not too much of an increase in frames, but the game feels much smoother while splitting performance than just changing to AFR2 in control panel. The only downside I've found is TAA makes the game flicker with these settings, but FXAA works perfectly fine.

SLI requires exclusive mode and Unity engine games now default to windowed borderless unless the developer provides the option to do otherwise (*shakes fist at Unity*).

You need to add:

-screen-fullscreen -window-mode exclusive

To the game's launch options (actually, -window-mode exclusive might only be needed). You can then enable AFR and get perfect scaling. TAA also works without flickering.

With flags you only need DX11 compatibiltiy bits as it's a DX11 game. Also AFR is generally the default mode for DX10/11 games, AFR2 for DX9 games.

I've just started experimenting but the standard 0x000000F5 and AFR is providing perfect scaling with the above launch options.

Also, disable in-game vsync and use driver vsync.

Can confirm this, two 980tis in SLI with PERFECT scaling using the above launch options. I am shocked this info is so hard to find. What a shame the industry has turned its back on mgpu.

For anyone wondering why DSR and Surround don't work with Subnautica, exclusive fullscreen mode is also required for either of them to work as well.

I've been using the -window-mode exclusive option for ages now to play at 5760x1200.

I tried this and it still doesn't work. i entered those launch instructions into the steam game properties menu and enabled afr and used the 0x000000F5 dx11 compatibility bits.
What am I missing?
