Where the heck is the lead?

Hey peoples, I havn't played subnautica in a really really long time. So far I have only found one sandstone outcrop that has given me lead, I could of sworn you use to be able to make lead. Is there a specific area where i can go to find more lead? I've searched in the two kelp forests near me by spawn but have only found 2 things of silver and gold. Now all I'm finding in that area is limestone outcrops.
