Vertical Connector not connecting.
I layed the multi purpose room but the vertical connector won't attach to it. I'd like to build my base up. What does the vertical connector attach to?

Thank you.

I had the same issue with the scanning room but it appears the vertical connector seems to work best with standard tubes or the T or X tubes

You can't connect the Vertical Connector to the Multipurpose room. To build UP with Multipurpose room, place another Multipurpose room on top of it. then once complete, go inside and place a Ladder.

It connected to the X-Tube. Thank you.

Yeah on the basic compartment or the glass compartment you can see the square on the floor. That’s where the vertical tube goes. It connects two horizontal tubes where one is on top of another.

Vertical connector, as you found out, does not connect to the MPR. It's not a bug evidently. You can, however, stack the MPRs to build up. Vert connector will only attach to straight, T, or X base pieces.

If you stack Multi Purpose rooms, will that lower base integrety? I can't see base integrety anywhere.

yes. The base integrity displays every time you add/remove something to the base structure.

EDIT: Top left corner of the screen.

Stacking the vertical connectors must really weaken rhe base because when I added a room on top, it sprang leaks and flooded. I need the top high to use solar panels. Any ideas?

Add bulkheads and Foundations. It increases integrity.

EDIT: also, you can place the solar panels under water.

I'll also point out that base parts lose more integrity the deeper they are. That is, a tube at about 30m will decrease integrity by something like 0.5, but at 900m will do about 1.5 (iirc).

Reinforcement is great, because it gives +7 which is pretty nice. If you have more horizontal pieces, you can do bulkheads which give 3 and are pretty easy to make.

So if I add Foundation way at the bottem, it will stregnthen the very top that sits on all that tube?
gamergrandpa Jan 22, 2018 @ 10:15pm
yes, but you may still have to add more reinforcement panels.

Yep, the combo of foundation and reinforcement did it. Thanks guys.

Your base HP will go up and down with every piece you place. When you open the habitat builder menus, that first page you look at, everything on it adds or subtracts from your total base HP. When you log in and/or when you place something look in the upper left-hand corner of your screen. There should be short-lived text message that pops up telling you how much HP your base has. Hope that helps.
