Yes, if you reset the terrain trough delete Gamefiles. Sometimes Players do that for Performance improvements or corrupted Terrain that crashes the game.

Well it seems like stalkers (those sharky things in the weeds) go for any and all floating metal objects. They left the weeds to eat my camera drones and a beacon.

But I've always left a locker or two beneath my escape pod (which is away from stalkers) and nothing's ever touched em

You can try to pick them up and put them in the trash (you need to scan one first to be able to build it). I use the trash to destroy items i dont need it should work but never tried with lockers.
