Radiation suit: any disadvantages?
I have repaired the Aurora and eliminated the radiation. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to continuing to wear the radiation suit? For example, does it affect my swimming speed?

I have replaced the mask with the rebreather since I found the blueprint for that, but I don't have anything to replace the gloves or body suit. Does it matter whether I leave these equipped or stash them in base?

I conducted a very brief test of swim speed and couldn't tell whether they affect it.

Nope. Suit doesn’t effect speed.

You don't need the suit at all anymore, so I suggest getting a Stillsuit, or the reinforced diving suit. Spoilers: The stillsuit reclaims water from your body, basically you beargrills style the game, pee and drink it. But it cannot fully support your water consumption.

According to the wiki, the reinforced diving suit increases your heat resistance, so instead of taking damage at 50 degrees, you take it at 70. It reduces damage taken by 50% and deflects tiger plant spikes, and slows down your swim speed by .95 m/s.

Thanks guys! I like the look of the suits on the paperdoll and my character so I'll keep them equipped until I get something better.

Yeah once the Aurora is fixed the rad suit is pointless. Might as well trade up to one of the other suits. I think at one point or another the devs thought about requiring the rad suit to mess around with the Nuclear Reactor but I think that was scrapped.
