Will my GPU handle this game?
i have an intel HD 630, is this a better card than the 4600? my CPU is an i7-7700 so the only thing holding me back is my graohics card and my garbage PSU.

no. not even close. thats not a gpu its crappy inegrated graphics. why do you have a pc with a monster cpu and a bad psu and no graphics card. and what 4600. saying numbers means nothing. you dont have a card in the first place and whatever "4600" is its probably too bad to run the game as well. do you have any idea what your doing.
Traumkater 20 stycznia 2018 o 1:06
this gpu can't handle games.

you need better hardware.

The minimum spec GFX for Subnautica is the HD4600, which is crappy intergrated graphics. So it's not unreasonable to ask if a similar setup would be enough.

Because not everyone has enough money for parts. Maybe they got the CPU for free from a friend? I have no idea what OPs life is like, just like you don't.

As mentioned above, the 4600 is the minimum GFX from the minimum required spec. It's in the same family "HD" as the 630.

OP did the research to find out what GFX they have, then what the minimum required GFX for the game is, and then came to ask for a bit of help with the final bit of comparing the two. It sounds like OP knows exactly what they're doing and they're showing a decent level of competence in achiving it.

You however provided nothing of value, have little knowledge of the spes or hardware being discussed, make silly judgements about what others should be able to have and then project your own ignorance on to OP.

Good job ;)

thanks smelly hippy! i was given a desktop as a gift, its a higher end pavilion. I plan on upgrading my gpu ASAP but i need to find a PSU that will fit, the socket for the power cord and the fan are on the same side for my computer so i need to find a PSU like that but most are top and side. pain in the butt.
no one said u need the gtx1080ti but u should atleast have a 900 series.

yeah ill look into cards once i figure out my psu situation. i can get a g force 660 for free which is nearly 300% faster than my current setup, but im considering just going all out on a good card. the model one step up from my computer runs a gtx1080ti so im considering doing that if it doesnt put me over what it would have cost to just buy that computer instead. i just need to find the psu that the higher model uses becasuse my tower is not compatable with most aftermarket PSU's
cwsumner 20 stycznia 2018 o 23:07
Some of the new cards are available in low-power, moderate speed, versions that are lower cost. I got a Gforce GTX 1050Ti for about $200, it runs this ok.
Get an SSD if you can, this game needs one or it stutters once in a while.
Traumkater 21 stycznia 2018 o 2:52
i played subnautica for long with an gtx 750 titan.
was stuttering here and there when i was moving but overall performance was good.

OP, I would first find a proper power supply, and then go for your GPU, to not mess things up. Once you find a proper PSU that fits your case, mini, mid, or full, and it has enough watts for your setup plus your planned GPU. Then in terms of a GPU, I would say at least aim for NVIDIA GTX 1060 3gb. But if you want to upgrade more, definetely go for it!:ilike:
cwsumner 22 stycznia 2018 o 16:17
I started the game running a GTX 430, which is "blacklisted?". It ran ok for me, but then I once played Quake on PC-DOS at 5fps... it was better than that. 8-)
Pinger 22 stycznia 2018 o 16:33
any of the 750Ti too 1050Ti's will help is they all dont require a 6 or 8 pin socket from your psu.

But cost wise when it comes down to it if you plan on a 1080, then better just spend the money you would on a 1080 to take the cpu out and build a new pc around it with a better motherboard/psu and lower spec GPU etc for same price.
