Stalkers Stealing Cameras
Could somebody PLEASe come up with an answer for this? I get them snatching the drones up while they're off and moving about but I am ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SICK TO DEATH of them snatching them right off my scanner room! I built my base to an asthetic and I want it to look nice without have to build the scanner room 500 FEET AWAY just so they won't keep steakling my cameras.

Seriously, I'm ready to commit GENOCIDE on these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ monsters to get it to stop!

Do not offend stalkers. They want to eat. Feed them with fish. )))

Leave the stalkers alone, they just want to play.

I don't think there is a way to stop them.
If your building scanner rooms separate from your base it's best to place a beacon under them. When building them insure you have power supply ready before you actually build the scanner room. That way the cameras are detected in your PDA before the stalkers steal them.
Built 7 scanner bases once and could only re-find 6. :(

you can make grow beds full of that one plant that fires barbs near each side of the scanner room. that'll probably kill the stalker when it comes for the camera.
Tada you have your genocide

Since some of the recent updates I find those leopard plants have a bit more of a sting. To me they used to be a pest and easily dodged. But they seem to have become more accurate and and I take more damage from them.
But that's an interesting idea.

I just took the cameras out and put them in a container when not charging/otherwise in use. Got the inventory upgrade for the scanner room to make camera relatively obselete where Stalkers are an issue for me.

Funny thing is, those cameras are the actual sensors of your scanner room, and stalkers seem to inflict minor damage on them which gets fixed with time as they pass by the scanner room.

I think it is a natural behavior programmed into the game that those scanners attract stalkers to keep playing around with them because they never get out of scanner room's range and the cameras are always within 200m of the place where I initially deployed them.

To me, it looks like it's programmed to work this way. Exploit the nature to scan your limestone chunks faster :D Without the stalkers roaming the cameras about, you will only see the resources that a static camera pic can get you.

So I was having a problem with this too and while it was merely annoying, half the time the stalkers would deposit the camera under the map. Eventually I started breeding gasopods and releasing them near my camera room. There are at least eight of them patroling my base at any given time. This means that I have traded the annoyance of dealing with stalkers for the annoyance of dealing with gasopods. It's still a hassle, but I feel like I won.

If you're close enough for stalkers to be a problem then you should be able to find a cave nearby.
Find a cave big enough to put one or two growbeds down in.
Fill them full of tigerplant seeds.
Let seed grow.
Once grown pilot all drones into cave and hide them there.
Stalkers will no linger try to steal your drones.

Yep.

Allow them to play with your cameras. that said. . somehow, my camera 1 has disappeared . . it's the one they are playing with here . have no idea what they did with it.

They used to play with it near my base.

Come to think of it . .once it disappeared I have hardly seen them . . did they take it away somewhere beyond the range of my scanner and are playing with it endlessly there? Doesn't even show up as an icon.

They might've broke it.

They might have, but you would think they would be back if they did lol.

When I made a camera to replace it, I thought it would be labeled camera 1, but it was labeled camera 2 - I already have a camera 2 and can't find a way to change the label of either. I made another camera and it was labeled camera 3.

If they did destroy it eventually, I did get a lot of free scanning loading done for me before they did.

Scanner room drones are free. Just re-construct the room for 2 more.
