Can't enable console commands

Sub clipped into cliff and can't get to it anymore. Was hoping to delete the turf around it.
The F3 and F8 method doesn't work, the 'disable console' button doesn't seem intractable.

How to "Uncheck" the Disable Console?

1) When you are in the game Open the inventory (TAB)
2) Press F3 (opens a top left corner window)
3) Use your mouse to uncheck "Disable Console"

Now you can use a console. (Tilde [ ~ ] OR [ ¸ ] ) - Above the TAB button.

Before you use a console, close the F3 window & (TAB) inventory for no interruption.

Now you can type in the console for an example:

If you want to [disable/enable] HUD, press F6.

f3 opens up a window in the upper left but among the several options it shows, "disable console" is definitely not one of them.

An update changed the way the console is activated. The disable checkbox is no more, but it used to be.

I'm locking this thread to avoid further confusions.
