What's the easiest location to get the alien containment unit?

I've watched multiple tutorials online, and still can't manage to find any fragments. I am also still confused as to whether it comes in fragments or a data box.

I know you can find a scannable ACU in the deep degasi base, and the entrance to the lost river, but I'm wondering if there is any way to obtain ot without having to fight off warpers, leviathans, crabsquids, etc.

Any help is much appreciated.

the only one ive found in a Data box which is found next to a small-ish wreck in the Bulb Zone to the left of the Auroras nose, near the Mountain Island, there are BoneSharks and Shockers round there and sometimes the occasional Mesmer, but if you park your Seamoth about 50-100 metres above the wreck, wait for a clearing, then you can use your Seaglide to quickly race down grab the data chip and swim inside the wreck for cover, there are also a few scannable base items in the wreck as well if you dont already have them.

That's odd. I've looked that wreck over thoroughly, and the only data box I found did not have the ACU in it. Thank you for the advice, though! I'll go back one more time tonight to make sure I didn't miss anything.

If you follow the DeGasi story locations, the 500 feet down one has the unit... I think. You can get the location of the 500 feet PDA from the JellyShroom Cave DeGasi hub with the water filter.

bare in mind theres 2 wrecks in that area, you may have looked in the big one that over hangs a small cliff near the thermal vents, but a bit further north where there are some giant Bulb plants theres a small wreck, can be hard to spot at first,

Thank you! I've checked the jellyshroom degasi base, but not the deep degasi base.
