I lost a purple drill arm blueprint item i had
I was at the crashed ship the aurora and i found a purple colored drill-arm upgrade. It said something about allows you to mine large ore deposites

Then i crated my first seamoth and assumed i was safe while inside it (dont go 1400m away from pod searching for shale)

Does that mean i can never drill on the robot in my entire life? I've never created the robot yet

Did you get the blueprint? If so you can build it for the prawn. If not, find some more drill arms to scan.

im not sure. What i picked up was an actual arm. Then i right clicked it thinking i could learn it but that dropped it. So i quickly picked it back up off the ground. It was definately in my bag and it had a purple icon and it was a drilling arm

then my seamoth got destroyed and i tried to swim to surface but i drown

when i respawned in pod the item was no longer in my bag

The drill arm is a part that can equipped on the Prawn. You can scan fragments to unlock the ability to craft more, and they can be crafted at the fabricator located inside a moonpool.

phew thanks. Hey the area around my pod is starting to be like a baron wasteland as i've picked up pretty much every quarts/copper/pretty much everything 50m around the pod in all directions i've cleaned out.

But then i noticed the grav thing. When i put it down in random places and come back it seems to generate items i had no idea i missed. Is this the games way of spawning random materials to you? Or is it actually possible to zap the entire map of reasources?

when my first seamoth broke it was kinda hard finding quarts to make 2x piece of glass. This aspect of the game is giving me 1% of anxiety so far but not really a big deal. Any ideas?

I've honestly never used the grav traps before, so I'm not sure if they have some hidden functionality like that or not. Either way, all minerals like titanium, copper, quartz, etc. are limited, and do not respawn. You're encouraged to explore to find more of what you need.

Later areas of the game often have deposits of resources that you must drill to exploit them. Though resources are finite, you're highly unlikely to ever run out.

You can also unlock and build a scanner room, and a scanner hud chip from the fabricator inside of it, to make it much easier to find the resources you're looking for. It's not uncommon to think you've looked everywhere, toss a scan up, and see you've missed countless resources.

Quartz is most commonly found inside of caves, or out in the grassy plains (the fields of red grass). They can be hard to spot in the plains since they're often hidden inside of the tall grass.

When you find fragments for something (in this case, a prawn suit drill arm), you must use your scanner to permanently unlock the blueprint and, thus, the recipe for crafting it.

Also, if you've already unlocked the blueprints for something and try scanning it again, it will instead give you two pieces of titanium. That is, of course, if you have room for it.

Those Grav Traps, however, are something I'm not so sure about; as in, I was quite excited when I first obtained one, but, despite that, I've still never used it. I think my Seaglide and bare hands are a better combo than a Grav Trap.

Quartz is easily found in extreme abundance over at the Grand Reef. You'll likely find at least 20 in under five minutes.

1 Quartz + 2 Titanium = 1 Locker (48 units)

Not exactly. The Sea Treader Leviathan will occasionally dig up Shale Outcrops, which can drop Gold, Diamonds or Lithium.

I always forget about those guys. Pretty neat to follow around.

i found more arms to scan now i have the blueprint. But its weird because i had the physical completed entire upgrade before without ever even having the blueprint first. I got it at the entrance to the aurora where you use the gravity gun to move the crates out of the doorway

Grav Traps seemed to be more useful before, unless I mod I got changed it, when drilling you never used to automatically pick them up for your prawn storage. So the resources would roll away.

Apart from that you just throw it down where fish are and pick the good ones. Kinda pointless I never used it.
