Freedom mode troubles
I have found that in freedom mode you are unable to eat bladderfish for extra oxygen. Is there a way to enable eating fish in freedom mode without going into survival mode?

In all the years of playing this game I never new that was a thing.

The only real difference between freedom and survival is that in the lattet you need to eat (and drink) stuff. So I doubt there's a way without outright switching them.

Unless there's a mod.

There is nothing you can "eat" to get extra oxygen in ANY mode.
Not sure what you're on.

Also, there are no mods currently that give oxygen from a consumable.

I reserve judgement until I have time to try eating a bladderfish, while underwater, in the game.
The wiki seems backs him up for what it's worth.

The wiki does mention it, but it also says "This only works in survival mode."

And with that we have come full loop to what started this post in the first place :steamhappy:.

I think would be pretty simple to understand that since you cannot eat or drink in freedom mode, that the ability to eat a raw bladderfish is not possible.

OP could use the console command to switch mode from freedom to survival, eat a fish and then use the console command to switch it back again I guess, but at that point it's more PITA than a solution.

Might as well just play on survival or use mods to add ridiculously OP O2 tanks to freedom mode (CustomCraft2 mod allows this easily).

The wiki mentions a great many things that are very much outdated.

At this point I'm just carrying two O2 tanks with me at all time for extra air. While it does slow my swim speed, death isn't a big deal in this game.
