Mandatory to look area around Aurora before it explodes?
I just started new survival game, taking my time, basically exploring the area around the pod and circling out, no real intention to go too close to aurora before it eventually explodes.

I have not played the game much but I remember talk about rushing and looting before it explodes. I just wanted to check to make sure it is not mandatory to go close to it / loot it before the big boom? I just want to head to the pods as they come up

When the ship explodes you will get blueprints for a radiation suit. You will need that to even go near the ship after that.

well if you build a base close to the aurora prior to the explosion you get to see how your base gets ripped when it explodes xD

But no. There is no reason to go near it before the explosion.
