A few questions about Stasis Rifle uses.
Going to the Blood Kelp Trench (and maybe northern) and I want to survive. Does a Stasis Rifle freeze a Warper? Does a Stasis Rifle freeze a Ghost Leviathan? Does a Stasis Rifle freeze a Reaper Leviathan?

Leviathans are the ideal target. Works on them wonderfully, and they're so massive that it's almost impossible to miss.

Thank you. I have another question. Do leviathans freeze wherever you hit them, or is it just the head?

I believe anywhere would work, though I've only ever shot them in the face when they're charging at me. That's the easiest time to hit them since the travel time on the shot is so slow.

Okay, thanks.

Stasis rifle does work on warpers, but they tend to teleport away after a few seconds. It's still enough to get away though.

I've played this game 10 times all the way through and made the stasis rifle just once for completeness sake and used it to try it out. The only other time I held one was when I got it in a time capsule.
You do not need need to lug it around and take up four slots in inventory when all you have to have is situational awareness.

You are more likely to be injured by the crab things and biters in the blood kelp trench than reapers, crabsquid or warpers. But if you feel more comfortable with a weapon then go for it. Take a medkit as well.

I have 2 medkits in my inventory and 2 medkits in my seamoth. Is that too much? Oh, and I always carry a weapon. Makes me comfortable. And what do you mean by "crab things"? Do you mean the Blood Crawler?

playing hardcore and not using the Stasis Rifle is kinda stupid.

Not playing hardcore. And that's kind of obvious.

Oh, hardcore... Huh... Well, I would just build a prawn suit and just walk past them. Kinda scary, but a prawn suit has insane health.

I guess it's a personal preference. But I don't usually carry med kits. Unless you get caught by a leviathan (why would you, especially while carrying a stasis rifle?), nothing will damage you for more than a few percentage points.
If I do take damage, which is rare, I'll just return to base to get a med kit.

I have changed and now carry one, since I tend to go on long adventures to far away waters and biomes.

I have a hardcore playthrough without using the rifle. There is not much, if anything, in the game that can one shot kill you and you can run from everything. Getting killed by a reaper is just plain laziness.
