Do creature decoys last forever?
I was piloting my Cyclops back from my Cove Tree base because somehow I forgot to get the Stasis Rifle blueprint, and I saw a blinking red light off in the distance. I headed for it thinking maybe it was a glitch or something but it was a creature decoy that I launched HOURS ago (like 8 hours) and still had a Reaper swimming in circles around it. I drove pretty close to the Reaper and it ignored me, continuing to circle the decoy. Do they just permanently ensnare Leviathans?

I imagine that, if a decoy has lasted eight hours, they are permanent.

On the other hand, have you tried reloading your save file? Perhaps they'll stop working if you reload the game.

Yeah I've reloaded a few times since launching it. Maybe it's because I wasn't *in* the area that the decoy was in. If they do last forever... that seems like a kind of cheap way to get rid of every dangerous creature in the game. lol

To be honest, I'd still need a new bucket each time I pass by the local dragon every morning.

Haven't tried one down there. They've been a lot less dangerous than the Reapers for me so far although I haven't been able to scan them since they're so fast (which is why I'm backtracking to get the stasis rifle).

No, they dont. I tried putting one down in creative, and after like 1 minute they exploded into bubbles.
