Is the Sea Dragon Leviathan killable?
(I'm playing on the most recent version of the game) So, I went down to the treacherous Lava Lakes and set up a base with 1 thing in mind: to kill the Sea Dragon Leviathan. Long story short, I've been down here for hours. I've shot the thing with the Statis Rifle and gotten hundreds of hits in with the Thermoblade, but the dragon just won't die. I've used this method to kill a Reaper Leviathan and a juvenile Ghost Leviathan, but the Sea Dragon just doesn't seem to die... So, is it even killable?

I actually froze it, and hit the top of it. Turns out for the past hour, I've been hitting the part where it is not vulnerable to damage... Anywho, killed it quite easily. Thanks for the vid, explained why I should hit the top of it...

Did it yesterday. grapling with claw. I don't like that we can counter it this way. I wish the devs would put like an AI script where it would drag you along a wall of something to get you off, or grab you with a claw. Too easy to kill in imo.

It is killable, but you have to use the normal knife or more original means (like the lava lizards, they are immuned to the thermoblade, but gas pods or crashfishes works too).
Easily killed by avg 25 gas pods and stasis rifle

I mean are you serious? The game's PDA even tells you about the armored part of the Sea Dragon. You wasted hours of your life stabbing the most invulnerable part of the Sea Dragon then it took you seeing a video reminding you of what the game says?

Ah man.........have a free Coffee machine, compliments of Alterra. It brews Columbiano.

Just Stop trying to kill ♥♥♥♥. The devs literraly planned the game around you not doing that. Just stop whats even the point. I mean seriously great job you killed some big scary monster in one area. Now that area is no longer scary or frightnening. PLz continue to ruin part of the fun in the game.

It's not fun being sacred.

For me it is. To tell you the truth I hate horror movies and horror games yet part of what I love in this game is the fear factor. When you play on hard core mode and you here the big bois in the deep its terrifying. Yet that's what makes the game worth it. The terrifying thrill and adrenalin rush you get when you're scavenging around the reaper. That's why you shouldn't kill the big bois.

Ok boy, the human is the king of the nature, the top of evolution and creature much more dangerous and powerful then a big roaring stupid fish. And if big carnivores is too stupid to realize that and accept their place in the nature ladder - they must be killed according to nature's laws. Animals is none, human life is all. Count this as the part of terraforming measures or base enstablishing. Making workspace more safe and less agressive is a necessity rather than a whim
If you were in Ryley's place, I doubt the Sea Emperor would have reached out to you, or given you the ingredients to hatch her eggs. You'd still have Khaara, and you would died on 4546B. Tough guy kill everything approach suddenly does you no good but go for it.

I'm the kind of guy who isn't able to kill a deer in Skyrim, I hate killing creatures when there is no need to.

That said, I'll always kill:
The reaper near the entrance of the Aurora.
A reaper that may or may not appear west of the gun island.
The two ghost in the lost river.

Those get in the way and are bothersome to avoid, so it's better to get rid of them.

If this is intelligent and doesnt try to eat me, i will speak with it. I have no intentions for unreasonable violence, just self-defence (e.q. I didnt touched even Stalkers near my base) and if we speak about efficiency, every act of violence cost presious resources. Sea Emperor - reasonable and peaceful, with intentions for mutually beneficial cooperation, so why not to cooperate? Reaper, Ghost and Sea Dragons - just dangerous animals.

This is such nonsense.
Humans are not king of nature. Nature has no king, and we are finding out more and more how badly equipped we are at dealing with what nature throws at us, and how bad we are at making choices regarding our long-term survival on this earth.
I hope you were joking.

Nope. Human mind is the best weapon and the best tool. We bend nature by our will, and when it try to kill us, we become just more powerful. See, what humanity done with just the power of its mind. We was just an mere monkeys freezing in the cold caves in front of the small bonfire with the fear thet it can fade in any moment. Now we are here, and I can speak with you through the all world. We do not fear nature now, we are it's lord. Ok, sometime our slave tries to break out from it's collar, but this is nothing but a struggle. It's just the matter of time to make a new, more tight and robust collar.
As for me. I do not scared by big animals and giant roaring fish, but by humans.
