Cyclops lighting
Need stronger flood lights to let us see the area around the ship. More like the Seamoth. Need to incress the front lights and have 6 downwered pointing flood light for under the Cyclops. Also the spot lights for the cameras need to have more range. Should also have running lights tha lite the subs so you can see them in the dark. Would be nice to have the tracking "spotlights mountable on the cyclops ( two in the front and two in the back to point out creatures near the sub.) The Seamoth could have one on the top and one on the bottom.

Agreed, the cyclops lighting is trash.

it's not so much the bad flood lights as the contrasting lights in the cyclops room with the blackness of deep sea where the sun can't reach. even with the lights dimmed on the console it isn't enough, i almost always pilot by the underhull camera facing the ground near the front because there is no light glare from the bridge lights and the flood light is just adequate enough to see things around me atthat distance, but as i mentioned it is "adequate", the light could be expanded on and lengthened so i can see at a greater distance in the dark sea. additionally if the cameras had filters installed that can give a representation so typical lighting is not needed and you can see everything on the camera like night vision or thermal vision.

This is after all a game based on technology in the future. things like this should be accounted for.

We're talking about a civilization that goes to other planets and doesn't have a compass built-in by default to every suit worn by everyone, but for some reason has a much more complicated suite of vitals monitoring. Night vision and thermal vision are probably foreign concepts to this universe.

if it were that foreign, you wouldn't be able to find a said compass in a wrecked lifepod in the grassy plateau or even the compass blueprint show up when you collect a certain mineral around the mountain island area. it exists, but like so many other QoL features, you got to find them.

I know they exist. That wasn't my point. Vitals are much more complicated to monitor than compass directions. Especially nutrient levels in real time (something real life modern technology still cannot fully do). We have watches with digital compasses for less than $20. Subnautica takes place a few centuries from now. You're telling me that they can have complicated suites of vitals monitoring systems but can't accomplish having a compass built in to every suit made? I understand the point of it being a game play mechanic, but it feels asinine.
