However previously it could be found around the Sea-Trader wreck and inside the Dunes wreck.
And that's it. I've looked through all the wrecks, did a very thurough search of the floating island and didn't find a 3rd part.
Yesterday a whole wreck failed to load and I had to save/exit/reload. Also sometimes the crew quarters of the Aurora don't load on the first try.
So I've gotten to the point of getting all the fragments I can see, saving, exit, reload and then scanning the "new" fragments, especially if I find a whole bunch of crates that are empty.
The fragments that can be scanned over and over happens because the game put multiple fragments in the same spot. I'm wondering if this is because the savegame is getting corrupted or simply buggy and it's not saving the states of wrecks/fragments correctly.
I think they may have reworked the spawn rates and locations a bit but all the old spots are still good. I found the bridge and hull frags in the dunes and sparse reef areas as well as the 3rd Seamoth frag after finding 2 in the grassy plateau.
lol you think thats bad? Try having etire wrecks flat out disappear!! I dropped a beacon cause I got trapped in the Lifepod 17 wreck, then I used my Seaglide to go back and when I got there the wreck was just gone, but my beacon was still there and all the fragments were just suspended in the water!! It was the strangest thing!!
The current version of subnautica is very buggy in this regard.
I had the bonus of finding a wreck the other day but needing to go back to my Cyclops to drop off some stuff. When I moved the Cyclops closer over to the wreck, I couldn't find it anymore and I was looking for ages. Then I noticed a few objects floating around in mid air/water and scanned all the moonpool fragments I'd been looking for. It seems that wrecks sometimes don't render/appear at all, I'd noticed a few times previously with floating and working doors but thought it was just a one off. I've paid more attention now and I've noticed it a lot more now I know what to look for.
Either not show up ... or show up twice. All doors are susceptible to being double-locked. Weld the controls twice, cut the door open twice, use the handle twice...
