Most useful plants? Best looking?
So yeah just doing some underwater gardening and wondering what to add to my garden?

Found Creepvine is incredibly useful both for lubricant and synthetic fibers as well as a light source but what other plants should I be adding to my underwater garden? Acid Shrooms for batteries?

Also what just looks nice? Something that looks pretty to make my base sparkle? Sure I may be trying to survive alone on a hostile alien planet but that does not mean I can't take pride in the appearance of my base does it? Every survivor needs a hobby to keep moral up and while punching sharks in a prawn suit can be fun for a while I need an outlet for my more artistic side and figured underwater gardening would do the trick!

Also above ground plants? Melons are good for food but anything else I should take note of?

I personally love JellyShrooms and Membrane Trees, that purple glow is amazing, even if the plant itself is useless. I will also always have a fondness for Gabe's Feathers and Blood Kelp.

Growing acid mushrooms can be a good idea in the early game to make battery making easier, but is not important once you have a charger. Also they are everywhere anyway and harvesting acid shrooms (and deep shrooms) with a knife can damage the player and base so be careful with that.

Above ground plants, I personally use lantern fruit and chinese potato for sustinence. Decoration I usually use Voxel Plants and Rattler mushrooms. I have been meaning to go back to the island for some Bulbo Trees to possibly replace my water filtration to save power and not have to deal with the salt production. Sorry if some of what i said was redundant to the other thread i posted in

Underwater plants:
- Creepvine (silicone rubber, lubricant, fiber mesh)
- Blood vine (benzene)
- Acid Mushrooms (batteries)
- Deep Mushrooms (hydrochloric acid)
- Spore sack (aerogel)

- Regress shell (decorative)
- Gabe's feather (decorative)
- Spotted dockleaf (decorative)
- Violet beau (decorative)
- Ghost weed (decorative)

In-base plants:
- Lantern tree (food - fast growing)
- Chinese potato plant (food - high nutrients, low water)
- Marblemelon (food - high nutrients, high water, requires replanting and wears down knives)

- Ming plant (decorative - place in floor pots)
- Fern palm (decorative - place in floor pots)
- Bulbo tree (decorative - place in floor pots)
- Voxel shrub (decorative - place in wall planters)

I do enjoy Gabe's Feathers, as well as the green tentacle plant (Ghost Weed) found in the Blood Kelp Zone. There's also a super rare decorative plant, I believe it's called the Sea Queen. It's really nice looking, and there's only two (last I saw) plants in the game so they're super hard to find. :P

Lantern tree is my fav.

Lantern tree is purely decorative at this point , +3 water and +4 food ( or something like that )
sounds pretty pointless
If you use a knife to slice the bulbo trees, you will get bulbo tree saplings that give you more food and water combined than any other plant.

nope that is wrong
they will produce whatever they dont have two of so if you dont take the salt out but you do take the water out it will still make water

also the best plant for food and water is marblemelons for looks it hard to determine because everyone has different taste i prefer creepvines tbh
