Power Cell Charging
I have a pretty easy solution for charging power cells quickly!!

Yes we all want the power cell charger!! But the charge rate is slow as crap!!

So here is what you do.

This REQUIRES a Moopool and the Upgrade Station for the Seamoth and all the power cells you want to charge!! Do NOT dock it in the Moonpool!! You just need that to craft the required upgrades!!

It may take some time, but if you craft multiple Seamoths, you can charge power cells very quickly using the Seamoths when they have the solar charger upgrade!! Each power cell charges about 3-5 times FASTER (from a basic visual comparison) than the Power Cell charger and wont drain your base power!!

Best place for this would be in the shallows obviously!!

My plan is to have at least 6-8 Seamoths all with solar chargers on them at one spot in the shallows!!

This will save you a lot of materials and time. God forbid one of your Seamoths gets destroyed by a Reaper, at least you will always have spares!

This is exactly what makes open world games so awesome. Emergent game play. Player innovation.

IKR??? When I saw the upgrade in the station a light bulb went off in my head. I had only just gotten the fragments for the power cell charger and figured I'd try the solar chargers on the Seamoths to give me more charging at the same time, but when I saw the SPEED at which they were charging I quickly dismantled the charger and made 2 more Seamoths and parked them on a pillar that is close to the surface of the water for the best solar exposure!

I had to have charged like 20 power cells in a matter of in game days. I keep a few floating crates full of depleted cells nearby as well as i have the inventory upgrade and have a few in there qas well.

Why do you need so many power cells in the first place? I have the solar charger on the seamoth, so I rarely need to think about loads of extra power cells there, and then for the cyclops I just swap out the power cells in the power cell charger I have on board. The only times it's an issue is when I have a bunch of lava larva attached to the surface of the cyclops sucking power.

BTW, that top post is power charged with exclamation points.

OP: Build a couple of chargers, it's way way way easier, will charge far faster than you can use them up, and doesn't require you running circles around all your seamoths swapping them out. The idea is insane..

I'm guessing you weren't around in the old days to see how people did it. There used to be large "docking" designs people made of bases meant to hold a cyclops in place. Once it was secured, they'd build solar panels on the cyclops and it would charge its batteries. The Cyclops was non-functional while it had panels on it. This was pre-moonpool, pre charger (obviously).

The Cyclops takes 6 power cells by itself. If you calculate how fast the batteries died versus how fast they charge you dont have fully charged cells by the time you have used the full chargees. Not to mentionthat docking with the Seamoth and Prawn takes that charge too,

I use it to travel and gather quite a bit. I use it in combination with the Seamoth and the Seaglide. You could deplete all 6 of those power cells in just a few trips back and forth while farming on the grand reef and even in the lava areas and you could get stranded. The Seamoths charge them immensely faster and the materials for the chargers are not that different than the Seamoths materials. it is completely worth that little bit of extra crafting ahnd effort to get the moonpool ad the upgrade station to go with it.

I just did a test with 2 additional Seamoths at the surface of the shallows. With a full daylight cycle (hopefully without eclipses) you can charge at least 6 power cells from 0 to 100% with just 2 extra Seamoths. The power cell charger takes ore than a full in game DAY to charge just 2. They also take up prescious wall space. The charger really isnt worth the time it takes to charge only 2 power cells.

Make a few more Seamoths, Get the moonpool so you can make the solar upgrade, then just have pretty much unlimited power cell recharging.

Here is the video I did today when the game DIDNT crash immediately after it loaded.
