It was worth a try, but collecting the spores didn't trigger the crafting recipes either. I've reported it as a bug, but it seems my savegame is screwed then, because Hydrochloric Acid is required for some of the Seamoth upgrades. :(
Oh, nice, this worked. I planted the spores in an Alien Containment, then harvested the Shrooms after they had grown, and that finally unlocked the crafting recipes. Hydrochloric Acid is required for the Seamoth Perimeter Defense System and the Seamoth Sonar, so now I should be able to craft those. :)
Maybe someone can confirm this, but I think the issue is that collecting a resource with the Prawn Suit and then grabbing it out of the Prawn Suit Storage does not unlock crafting recipes related to that item. You actually have to harvest the resource yourself without using the Prawn Suit.
I doubt it's intended to work this way, so it might be either a bug or an oversight by the developers.
Thank you for this thread, I wouldn't have guessed it on my own I think ;)
I applaud you for a meaningful necro.
