Sand Sharks in the Safe Shallows
Okay, what the hell is up with the Sand Sharks? they seem a lot more agressive in the latest update. Probably one of the worst bits happened early on.
Basically, one left the Grassy Plateaus and entered the Safe Shallows. I got attacked by it as I left my lifepod.
I wish there was a way to deal with it. Having to worry about getting attacked the moment I leave the pod is the reason why there is a Safe Shallows. it means we have a jumping off point where we can be relatively safe from the more dangerous creatures of this game, but since these guys seem to love the safe shallows so much, the shallows don't seem so safe anymore.
Is there any way I can kill or get rid of them?

Knife it and they run away.
or knife em until they die. Problem solved.

Repulsion/Propulsion cannons work too. Although the Repulsion cannon doesn't kill them, and the Propusion cannon needs ammo objects.

Your not always going to be safe, I like the idea of predators roaming into your the safer bioms on occasion, gives it a more realistic feeling to it.

And yer if you really are having so much problem with it stab it till it dies or lure him away

Pretty sure this is a world corruption issue, when you get a bunch of persistent sandsharks in the safe shallows it's time to delete cache files. Not only do I have 4 sandsharks outside my base, I also hear nonstop howling that sounds like something between a sea dragon and a bone shark coming from beneath the ground. Does anyone know what the hell this is?

edit: turns out it was a crab snake in my aquarium that for some reason was making noise as if it were wild and huge

As for me, I do not think this is a world corruption issue. I think it is an issue with predator aggression and predator range. The developers need to tone down the aggression levels in the smaller predators (the huge predators are rare enough that you don't need to worry).

And by NO circumstances should any of these guys be entering the Safe Shallows area. The Safe Shallows are supposed to be safe. Players need some form of refuge and safety in the game if they are going to add dangerous creatures all over the place. I like the dangerous creatures being somewhere but that has conditions.

I learned a very interesting trick from someone else in another thread here. If you have a Stasis Rifle or are able to make one, what you can do is - while you are still in your escape pod or the Cyclops - shoot a stasis sphere at the entrance hatch and then get out. What that will do is put up a stasis sphere around the inside and the outside of the hatch so that nothing can get you while you are getting out. Then atleast you can swim away unharmed.

Hope that helps somewhat.

The Sand Sharks have always fringed from their main area and the Aurora, in my experience. - not really new.

I bought the game during the sale and before that, my brother owned it and I played on Family share for a while until one day it broke and it was all like "Hey bruh You need to play through steam" and I was like "Hey bruh, I literally just launched through steam" and it was just all like derp derp..... anyway I'm getting off track

it was some time a while back when you still had MP blueprint, Non-upgraded Seamoth compensators and Aurora had the hole in its belly. - My base had a Sand shark near it and I was realitively set up near where the pod landed. - There was an entrance to the Jellyshroom caves (at the time) near there, too, Think it was in safe shallows with the area the sharks are frequent in off in the horizon.

As for the Bone shark - I remember one time (again a while back, even before the above time) where a bone shark was spawned under the world (just inside a solid landmass - not allllll the way under. )

It was stationary though... I found it after a long time of getting annoyed from hearing it by pushing myself through the rock/surface with rooms and corridors. - It was just chilling and being noisy up until I tried to kill it. Then it started swimming around like I was, because when you're inside a solid area - you're just kinda... noclippy....in a massive amount of water like area......

It swam away from me though, It just ignored me and kinda looked like it might have been heading back to where it was supposed to spawn/leashed to.. I think that time I had a base near the Aurora and the Jelly rays, with a line of corridors burrowing into the side of the rock

_____
and yeah I've found that a stock of Acid plants and the Propulsion cannon work wonders. - You can nuke down those stupid tiger plant things with that, and if it actually "explodes" against someone - it makes like a small AOE of damage. Haven't tried it on biters but I Imagine it could take out a whole group of em at a single time.
