The game really looks great in VR..performance for me is fine, there is the ocassional frame hitch but nothing drastic or game breaking , the devs have done a really nice job on the VR very immersive.
GL hope that works for you..:D
Edit : I also changed desktop refresh rate from 144Hz to 60Hz in nvidia control panel.. this also helps.
The game didn't really seem polished for VR, it's a fun curiousity, but I couldn't imagine doing a full playthrough in VR yet(the controls are wonky). But I'll give it another go on the next release.
I agree that the game has some minor control issues in VR and also would not play this exclusively in VR , it is just too nice looking on a good display with everything set to max , although the VR is a very nice addition to an already very good game.
However in VR I would only recommending piloting the cyclops.I'm still suffering from serious motion sickness from moving around on foot and in seamoth. But just piloting the cyclops is fun since your character isn't moving.
The controls (oculus touch for me) are pretty wonky though. Still haven't figured out how to go up or down in the sub. You might as well as play with your controller/k&m.
We'll technically you are right, but I see where Zefnoly is coming from. Technically the Vive & Oculus are classified as HMD's though it's technically a unibody HMD-VR device.
Just calling it an HMD "Head Mounted Display" makes it sound like people are strapping a monitor to their face. VR are HMD's but not all HMD's are VR.
