What do yall think of the atlas? I think it is a cool idea, but the thing that is really bothering me about it is...

The fact its so damn big and cant fit ANYWHERE. the only deep/open spaces are the void and the lost river and lava zones. but how could it get down there?
There should be a void update (my opnion) that would make the void have a purpose and a new place to explore with the atlas. seriously where else could that darn thing fit?!
and there isnt an entrance big enough for the atlas to get inot the lost river/lava zones. so where else than the void? i mean if it is said to be able to fit the cyclops in it, and has 2 lifepods, then just WHERE exactly is this thing going to fit into subnauticas oceans? you wouldnt be able to go 2 minutes without smashing into a creature or rock!

Let me know what should happen. Should it be added? Where could it actually fit? Should the void have a purpose? mainly giving the atlas a big enough place to maneuver around in? Does the atlas actually fit the cyclops in it? Answer all these questions or just discuss the damn thing i dont know!

RECIPE for atlas? (and ingame info/ way to get atlas)

CRAFTING RECIPE: crafted at mobile vehicle bay

-10 X Reinforced Enameled glass (for glass window) AtlasWindshieldFragment X4 = Window blueprint
=2 enameled glass + Lithium =Reinforced enameled glass

-20 Plasteel Ingots (hull) AtlasHullFragment X4 = Blueprint

-4 nuclear reactor pieces (Engine room) EngineRoomFragment X4 = Blueprint
Base
=1 plasteel ingot
Center
=Advanced Wiring kit + Lubricant + Glass X3
Reactor Core
=Nuclear reactor rod X2
Top
=Plasteel ingot + wiring kit

-Control room kit (ControlRoomFragment X4 = Blueprint
Advanced wiring kit X3 + Tianium ingot +glass X5 (made in fabricator)

AtlasWindshield Blueprint + AtlasHull Blueprint +EngineRoom blueprint + ControlRoom Blueprint = Atlas Blueprint

LOCATION OF FRAGMENTS:
Hull fragments: Dunes, Void cliffs (void cliffs is the steep drop into the void)
WindShield fragments: Dunes, Void cliffs
EngineRoom fragments: Deep grand reef, Void cliffs
ControlRoom fragments: Deep void (below 1600m)

Requirements for building atlas:
-Mobile vehicle bay MUST have atleast 200m of space below and 300m out in all directions underwater

-Have the blueprint

Welp thats how i think you should be able to obtain and craft the atlas. LEAVE your own ideas and comments BELOW!

Basically needs A LOT OF MATERIALS TO CRAFT!

Just give us a model of it to fill up our shelves. Doesn't have to actually be a vehicle.

If you are considering it for a vehicle, make it less than the size of the Cyclops, take out the docking bay (if any), take out the second floor (if there is one), take out the engine room but leave space for the modules, give it more maneuverability than the Cyclops for deep, large cave systems, give it as much depth as the Cyclops and last but not least a drill arm /laser or something. Maybe use 4 power cells. Fulfill roles of being an exploration vehicle like the seamoth but medium sized, drill resources of prawn and storage of resources of Cyclops but a little smaller.

Multiplayer.
The mod won't be able to succeed as a lot of the coding is unaccessable.

I would rather have a jet ski for fast surface travel, or a flat boat-like platform I could park over biomes and run an air-hose down from.

The game map was never designed to accomodate a vessel the size of the Atlas. The devs clearly intended the Cyclops to be the largest mobile vessel in the game. As awesome as the concept of the Atlas sounds it would not really add anything to the game without seriously reworking the environment or adding a whole new area designed to let the Player take advantage of the features the Atlas would provide. This is a massive burden to place on the devs and the true cost of brining the Atlas to Subnautica in any meaningful way beyond implementing the vehicle itself.

As many replies above me have stated people would rather have other smaller vehicles that can perform a specific task. As far as big vehicles are concerned I think most people would rather the devs ironed out any remaining problems with the Cyclops than give tham an even bigger sub.

and that new area already exists. they just need to develop it and make it have a purpose. the VOID

The void is meant to be useless.

I think the fragments should be in the map; maybe even some fragments close to the Aurora.
As far as I can imagine, the only way to get into the lost rivers with that huge, nice submarine would be the entrance in the bloodkelp-zone around livepod 3's location...
...thoug I'm not quite sure about that, but I've walked right through it with the parwnsuit and it seemed possible (this doesn't mean it has to) and I heard about people winding their way past this passage with a cyclops.
For the lava zone, I'd suggest useing the entrance behind the treecove.

If it it'd be added, they could include an extra entrence in the map (maybe close to or even inside the void, in order to let the beatiful map intact) in the mod or whatever.
Also, to make sure it won't make the cyclops useless, it should be very, VERY expensive to fabricate, while still providing abilities that make it worth to build, such as a recource scanner or an increadibly high hull integety (my favourite) of 10.000 or sth.

*For instance: the Cyclops has a hull integrety of 1.500 units, yet suffers damages of usually around 100-200 units and a peak of 500 units (as far as I know).
