Drill Arm Fragments

I don't seem so have drill arm fragments in my game i visited 23 large wrecks and left beacons at every single one of them i found all the other arms for the prawn suit but not a single fragment for the drill arm

Had a similar problem. Found one fragment of the drill and grappling arm, but nothing more.
Spent like two days looking and gave up. Game got boring when its the the thing that really prevents you from progressing. So I just used console to spawn one for scan.

Also not seen a single torpedo arm fragment yet.

It is kind of silly that some of the mid/late game wrecks have a lot of prawn suit fragments, but not arm fragments.
If you go to the Aurora you'll get the prawn suit there early on.

I think the second piece is a myth. The "veteran players" use it as a prank on us new players.

i currently got about 34hours on this save checked the wrecks multiple times but no matter i didnt find a single drill arm fragment. I found a wreck that had both the torpedo arm and propulsion canon arm in but where i found my grapling arm there wasnt a single drill arm in there now im stuck cause i need kyanite ore and i cant drill it...

I spent over twenty hours playing, only found one drill arm fragment, eventually started cheating so much I decided to just start over with the drill arm being my primary focus...

40+ hours into this play thru I have still only found one half of the drill arm fragments, decided to cheat the research.

Next play thru, as soon as I get the prawn I'm cheating the drill arm research, no more wasting my time searching for something that Does Not Exist.

i dont think all the arms appear in every game. at least i couldnt find some of them. I just popped in the blueprint for the propulsion gun arm cause i couldnt find it anywhere. i finished the main story first, now just waiting for the rocket and building bases every which way i want to.

What the devs need to do is get rid of half the prawn fragments and add in more arm modules.

Ive found at least 7 prawn torsos and at least 8 regular prawn arms (going by memory, I didn't actually count). Way more than anyone could ever need.

its possible its on a random generator. you might get a world with NO special prawn arms, which would end in some rather interesting problems, like not being able to make the blue keystone

NO drill arm fragments on my save but plenty of torpedo and propulsion at wreck 17 i even found 3 regualr arms and near mushroom biome i even found en entire wreck only containing torpedo and propulsion arms + a couple of regular ones

Just anecdotal stuff here, so take it with a grain of salt, but I found 7 Drill Arm Fragments by a wreck in my latest playthrough.

The thing is I had never seen this wreck before. I was looking for that large wreck out in The Dunes (V-shaped wreck with a cargohold in the middle) but despite my best non-spoilerish efforts I couldn't find it.

Instead however, I found a wreck that was like 3 small rooms connected together in a straight line, but the only way in was through an airduct on top. I don't think there was anything worthwhile inside, but littered about outside were all the Drill Arm Fragments I'd ever need.

I don't have co-ordinates for you, but try looking south of the Big Pit, one of a handful of landmarks out there in The Dunes.

I think something went wrong and there are spots for the prawn arm fragments to spawn, but not enough for every type. I got the propulsion cannon arm and the torpedo arm. However, I'm stuck with 1 grappling fragment and 1 drill fragment. Previous save I got the drill and propulsion (somehow propulsion is easier to find for me.) and I didn't even know of the torpedo arm and grappling one.

I concluded this after A LOT of searching and player reports across the forum threads.

I guess the devs need to change the spawning logic for these parts or something...

yea the spawn system for the prawn is broken, have gone over so many wrecks that i m nearly about to quit the game

Exactly. The suit fragments in the aurora are the only necessary ones- practically noone is out scouring for fragments in the depths BEFORE fixing the aurora.

example, i've found 2 whole prawnsuit fragments in big wrecks and then go to scan one in the aurora and it says progress 1/4..
If thats the third suit i scan then it should say 3/4..
Not that it really matters as there is 5 suits to scan in the prawn bay if u can reach the one way over the water

this can happen with all blueprint fragments, not just the Prawn.
