There really isn't a lot you can do offensively against larger animals and the leviathans. The only decent iteem you can use against them defensively is the stasis rifle which will freeze them in place for a moment allowing you to get away, but that requires getting out of the Seamoth.
In all seriousness, just learn to avoid the areas they spawn in, and if you must go to those areas, just try and keep your distance as beest you can.
Otherwise: "Run, you sucker!" (From some movie...)
A few things to remember:
Most med-sized sharks just take one swipe from the dive knife to make them run away. They're not unstoppable robots that will keep attacking you no matter what. You hurt them.. they flee.
When you're in the seamoth you can outrun almost anything.. even larger predators. Just don't look back.
Be aware of your surroundings.
You'll eventually learn wher the "big stuff" shows up at, and you'll give it a wide berth.
If you really want to murder everything, then you get a statis rifle that freezes things and knife them to death. You can clear out whole areas. But, sort of defeats the thrill of you being on the food chain.
Knife alone, is enough to kill stalkers and sharks, dodge their charge and poke them in the butt. Seaglide will speed up sections, when they try to run away. You might want to carry extra medkits around, before your dodging becomes reliable.
Unupgraded Seamoth can kill anything, but leviathans, by ramming. Things die after 3 collisions average, repairs are easy.
Finally, stasis rifle. Hadn't used it on Ghost leviathan yet, but Reaper and Dragon, both die after 2 minites of chain stasis and kinfe poking. Smaller sharks die to stasis even faster than to Seamoth.
Never seriously practiced Prawn fighting, it feels too bulky.
Never killed ampeel. They don't hurt me, I don't hurt them.
Turn to face the stalker, when he swims towards you swim past him, away from the teeth, turn around repeat. 2-3 times then stalker leaves.
