Don't know whats wrong with your game but everything I can build on the wall is flush without appearing to float off the wall.
The fabricator and locker thing is in the Cyclops btw, forgot to add that. The signs though are flaoting in front of the wall instead of sitting on it though.
What I want is what I think the OP is asking for, which isn't things sticking to walls (though they should do that, that's a given) but the ability to look at a wall with a locker, and maybe have a button you can press that'll snap it to a certain location on the wall. If I'm making my walls packed with lockers, I'd rather not see one of them floating 5 cm higher than the one next to it.
I hope they don't. If they start doing that it will limit where you can put lockers and whatnot. No thanks, it's fine the way it is.

This is what i'm talking about, i'm pretty sure it's the same in your game (at least i don't see why it should be different on your end). It's mainly the Cyclops that's a bit...strange...in regards to mounting stuff on walls.
So yeah, definitely NOT fine the way it is right now.
I beg to differ. It IS fine the way it is. I understand it's not perfect but it's something that doesn't effect gameplay in the slightest. You're calling out an aesthetic imperfection which amounts to zero impact on the game. Sorry but gameplay > aesthetic perfection.
So you'd oppose fixing this on gameplay reasons even though fixing it would not affect gameplay? Yeah, makes total sense. For the same reason, please refrain from fixing texture issues - they don't affect gameplay either.
This something i can actually agree with, though i would not see is quite as black-and-white as you do.
This might be that kind of problem, like it collides and destroys the wall panel on re-start if it's too close. Fixing those can turn into a "swamp" for the devs. But it usually gets fixed if they can...
One thing I noticed, though. The walls curve, so put stuff in the middle, too high or too low and it stands out. Also move as close as it lets you before it turns red, it's easy to click too soon. HTH.
