???FLOODLIGHT POWER???
I've heard people saying they run on batteries, but i dont see a way of replacing the batteries in them. but this whole battery statement is false seeing as as soon as i build one they dont turn on... so what DOES power these damn lights??!!

They actually VERY rarely flicker on for a few seconds and then off again. and NO my base isnt dying. i have 600 power and rising.

Didn't the battery power get taken out of them and now run on base?

The confusion comes from them originally being battery powered, but now they automatically use base power. If you look at the fragments of them in wrecks, you can see the battery cannister attached to the shaft. The ones you build do not have that.

Of course, this also means that you must build them on top of a base piece (room, corridor, foundation, whatever) that is powered. If they're not touching part of a powered base, they won't turn on. Also, it takes them a long few seconds to turn on after being built, so don't let that fool you.

They're still more useful (or should I say finally more useful) than spotlights, since those can't even be reliably powered by nuclear reactors, their power drain is so high.

They are more useful than the spotlight? I thought they drain the same amount.

I thought they would drain MORE than the spotlight. cuz they are much bigger and much brighter?

Point is, what the hell good are the flood lights anyway? You don't need them for anything, they provide no security and just cost power. I stopped using them when I realized how useless they are.
