How the heck do you mine the new bigger deposits?

So after not playing for a while I come back and find these large deposits... only thing is I've no clue how to harvest them. I've uploaded a screenshot with an exapmle of one such large deposit, this one being gold, link below.

You need the Prawn suit and the Drill Arm. The drill breaks it up into smaller chunks that you can pick up.

For what it is worth, only Kyanite in late game biomes, and ion deposits that only exist inside precursor bases, are "Drill only" materials.

As a heads up for something that understandably looks like bugs.

No, the drill does not auto collect material.
No, the Prawn Propulsion gun can't collect material (even though the handheld one can collect material.)
Unlike most resources that drop 7-11, Kyanite is apparently coded to drop ZERO through 10 so drilling one down only to get **** all is apparently "working as intended" (I hope that has been changed when I wasn't looking)

I found this confusing, so to clarify what IH was trying to say, all materials that show up in large deposits except the two late-game resources of Kyanite and Ion Crystals, are all available in forms besides the large deposits. Maybe not enough in some cases (copper, quartz), but they exist in the world in ways you can get without the PRAWN and drill arm.

That they are, but those are limited single crystal placements, while the big nodes and infamous "Infinite crystals" node needs a drill.

Still, that was a good clarification as it's not unique to drills fully ala Kyanite. Thanks
