I can live with that. I was just throwing it out there.
To the cold-hearted: a person has every right to turn to their community and peers to discuss their fears. This is the subnautica community, if a person has a fear about the game then they have the right to turn to the community to ask others how they have overcome the fear. Many people have used this game in particular to get over Thalassophobia. If you don't like it then ignore it. Saying that someone is asking to be bullied for posting this is complete garbage. Its common decency that has nothing to do with "internet warriors" or "opinions".
Might make sense to take your own advice when it comes to other people's point of view.
Tell people on the Internet about a fear of yours or yell "All black people should be shot" during a festival about equality, you'll get mixed reactions, because you asked for them.
I've yet to go beneath 300m, last time before updates occured I was busy having an heart attack from the seaworm in the cavern AFTER having a Reaper glitch through submarine glass to take me in one swoop.
However, you judging someone just by someone name and profile pic and taking it 100% serious on STEAM, the platform where people have the most retarded profiles is relatively sad.
But then again, it is sadder having a ironic profile than discussing who is more of a ♥♥♥♥ on a subtopic of a game.
i would say ''spot the sarcasm''
I really do not want to sound harsh, but moralism is slowly going to eat this planet from it is core and it is going to be a downfall of our civilisation.
I could imagine being scared of things as a kid.... because kids lack serious knowledge. And by definition (Correct me if I am wrong) you are only scared of things you do not understand. That is why studying spiders for example (When you have arachnophobia) is one of the top ways to fight it.
But what is there to be afraid of in a game that follows a set of rules and is limited by code? The leviathan is gonna come out of your screen and eat your face?
If you're really fishing for people who have a low opinion about anime profiles and/or make fun about them, then you wouldn't be complaining about getting the reaction/s you wanted to get.
How am I supposed to take someone who has almost each line of his post censored seriously?
I can admit my first time piloting the cyclops around at those depths, it was quite fear-inspiring for me as well. My advice? Explore new areas slowly and gradually to become conditioned. You'll still have those twinges of unexpected fear, but that's to be expected in a game like this.
Thank you.
There are fears and then there are phobias. You can get over your fears by exposing yourself to them because - as you've just said - people are afraid of what they do not understand. A phobia is different; it is a psychological condition caused by some form of trauma that the person may or may not be aware of or conscious of. There are a number of ways you can treat it but because it is caused by something the sensation of whatever caused the trauma can be triggered by the same perception of the environment the trauma took place in. As long as the trauma itself is still connected to the environment it took place in, you won't get anywhere through exposure alone. It needs to be done alongside finding the root cause of the trauma. So it can be a big deal.
