It's much worse when say, a Sea Dragon keeps rubbing it's face up against your engines off Cyclops constantly, clipping it's tentacled butt through your cockpit between your slightly tilted cyclops causing prawn docking bugs. Or worse.

That makes sense, though it would appear they spawned especially for attacking me since they came out of nowhere the instant the final piece of the base was built then simply vanished after I deleted the other section (which was merely a port btw) and none of the normal nearby stalkers were affected. They weren't normal stalkers noticing me and swimming over, this was Uncle Ben's (R) Instant Stalker Attack, new and more horrific formula. Either way, I'll report it as a bug if I can reproduce it.
like i made 2 of the larger storage`s and have filled them both up with stalker teeth and still have loads left, i remember when getting them was much rarer. whereas as now i`m getting a full inventory in no time. and now leaving them.
I have noticed the increase in tooth drops as well, though not in that same scenario. Prior to my weird stalker incident (but in that same base) I looked out a window and noticed a tooth on the ground. Swam out and turned around to find two others nearby. I've even found some sitting out in the open outside the kelp areas. I think the devs had pity on us and decided to make certain resources like stalker teeth more plentiful. I notice that gold and silver are no longer difficult to find either.
Thinking about stalker teeth these days. makes me cringe about roughly a year ago(?), when you could set up a base bordering a kelp forest, make sure to never touch any of the wildlife, and watch the whole place depopulate from stalker to gary anyways.
Of course even in such conditions, people loved to blame you for "Overfishing".
Gold has often been the subject of having lockers full of the stuff when in need of other metals. Though it is odd seeing things swing from nonstop silver shortages to copper shortages. (sea treader isn't a viable answer to skewed natural resources, it's a band-aid excuse often camped by warpers)
I can understand with gold later in the game but in the beginning stages, it seemed like it was always about as difficult as silver to find. Now you don't even have to go to the kelp areas, we've got protected caves in the shallows with so much gold and silver that you can start stockpiling immediately.
I also appreciate the extensions of the shallows and kelp areas to blend together better with more dangerous biomes immediately available from the starting point. It sure helps to not only have an escape route (since your survival may depend solely on a knife, a seaglide, and the off chance you have a stocked base to retreat into) but to also have the greater diversity of resources so close together.
There's a lovely spot I found that brings a kelp forest, safe shallows, the mushroom forest, and grassy plateau all very close together along with a few other amenities. It seems they made the biome regions less like isolated blobs and more like natural habitats that have transitions and sometimes lack "clean" breaks. My memories of exploring that same area in previous updates had it seeming a lot less swimmer-friendly. Sure if you had a seamoth or love burning batteries for the seaglide you could cruise around efficiently, but I can do most of my exploring now via free-swimming. It's nice to be able to take your time and explore without having to worry about time or danger nearly as much.
ah cool it`s not just me, i was like something is wrong here getting 2 large storage full of stalker teeth in less than 5 mins.
and sorry for if i went off topic a bit as i tried a search and couldn`t find anything and see you was mentioning the stalker.
