Crash Zone Wrecks
Is it worth it to explore the wrecks around the crash zone? I've heard it has the vehicle modification station, but there are a billion reapers in the Crash Zone. Would I be safe enough to explore it?

Sure, if you spend most of your time in a seamoth instead of swimming around.
Nothing much important there though.

In what I've seen since the last patch went to stable it seems if you stay between the rear corner of the engines (not behind them!) and move along the side closest to the safe shallows you should be pretty safe apart from the occasional sand shark. However there is a reaper out below life pod 4 (?) spawning now that can ruin your day. I had never seen one there until this patch and when I stumbled on him he made me dookie my drawers accordingly as he popped in.

The area I described along side the aurora has health kits, water, batteries, cells, repulsion fragments (enough to complete it) and other fragments here and there. Easy pickings.

The side closest to your lifepod has important stuff to scan but other than that, scrap metal, first aid kit, batteries, power cells and etc. Unless you're referring to some other large wrecks, it's just the small one right?

I have a funny story to tell about that reaper. There's a thread here that you can probably still find, and someone is asking if it's safe near Lifepod 4, and everyone was saying reapers don't spawn there, so to disprove it once and for all, I brought my cyclops there.

I saw nothing, and I was just about to open the forums saying he doesn't spawn there, when right in front of me, a reaper spawns, like out of nowhere, and I nearly leapt out of my seat.

I mostly want to know about scannables. What stuff can I scan? I already have a propulsion cannon, and stuff like tables and chairs I don't really consider fragments.

Yup that's the one, almost the exact same scenario with me too. Only I was cruising the area with nothing but the seaglide at the time.

That's even worse! Back then the cyclops was invincible really, but just out there with a seaglide, I would have just closed the game at that point.

Imagine being that one guy that has a thousand oxygen tanks weighing him down and no seaglide, and he just comes across it

Bioreactor fragments too in that wreck. Don't remember much else.

I think there was a power transmitter fragment there, and a handful of other random ones. Sorry I can't think of any more for sure, but there was more.

Oh, that's disappointing. I was looking for stuff like the moonpool or vehicle modification bay or modification table fragments. Before I found out that in this update, data chips were randomized, I risked everything to go to lifepod 4 for the swimcharge fins, and the chip was taken, (which means I already had the chip), so that was disappointing.

Best advice ever. Don't fear the reaper! Just do it.

Those are all in pretty deep wrecks I believe.

That's disappointing. You need that gear to go deeper, but to go deeper you need that gear. I found a pressure compensator in the aurora, but it only extends to 300 meters, which isn't much help.
