Ampeels spawning in the mushroom forest
I have a seabase in the northeast mushroom forest near the kelp forest. I have found 2 ampeels very close to by base. Someone please tell me a way to relocate them, they will attack the cyclops in the next update.

i could use the stasis rifle and kill it with the knife, but it would probably respawn in the same place.

Only if it laid an egg there. Anything after the initial new game start is "Born" from an egg.

I've never seen a creature get born from or actually lay eggs in game.
First of all ampeels tend to generally follow the player.I have my main base at the mushroom forest next to the aurora so i know what it is like down there and also if you kill a creauture it respawns on the spawn point that was set at the start of the game. And also because ampeels are in the category of big creatures, i don't mean leviathans, repulsion cannon just give them a small push.
What i did to kill the ampeels in my game was get a propulsion cannon and launch acid mushrooms at them because acid mushrooms explode and do even more damage on impact.
Hope this helps!:steamhappy:

If you follow the jellyrays closely whenever they are in a group, every once in a while one of them will lay ablue egg. I haven't seen any eggs actually hatch but after a while an egg will start to move. Some of them jump around while other look like something is trying to push out of them. I almost got the chance to see a crabsquid hatch in an alien containment after I saw the egg pulsating like crazy but I went outside for a few seconds and when I came back in it had hatched already. I doubt anything special happens, though; the egg probably breaks and a creature probably appears from nowhere right above it.

If you are going to see whether or not creatures do spawn on their own outside then I suggest using the "invisible" and "oxygen" console commands as this could become quite time-consuming.

There is usually just one Ampeel in the Mushroom Forest next to the Bloodkelp Zone, as well as a Crabsquid.

im in the area near mountain island, not the blood kelp. the closest area with ampeels is the koosh zone.

I have never seen smaller versions of the wild fauna so im not sure eggs hatch in the wild. I dont think ive seen broken eggs either in the wild. I did kill a crabsnake though and took its egg and its now living in my base. Not sure if it will spawn a new one. I should go down and check.

I think the name change is because of copyright issues.
